Grand Traverse County Parks and Recreation
The YMCA partnered with the County in 2016 to keep the Easling pool at the Civic Center operational and usable for the community.
As a result, the County has saved over $200,000 and the community has been able to continue using the Easling pool.
Michigan Blood
The West Y was a blood donation location for local blood drives through Michigan Blood in 2017 and 2018.
Northshore Volleyball
We partnered with Northshore in 2016 to bring volleyball to the Y’s South facility. Throughout 2017, over 150 players have enjoyed youth memberships as part of their volleyball season.
SEUNG-NI FIT CLUB & MARTIAL ARTS
We partner with Seung-Ni to provide Taekwondo every month to kids ages 3-17.
Safe Harbor
YMCA Masters Swim Team collected and donated 80 pair of wool socks to Safe Harbor during the harsh winter months in 2018.
The Masters Swim Team also collected 50 pair of wool socks for Safe Harbor in 2017 too.
Sojourn Church
We partnered with Sojourn Church in 2016 to open our Child Development Center in the eight classrooms on the church’s first level and increased our capacity by 20%, allowing us to take up to 78 families. In 2017, Sojourn worked with us and we were able to expand again, reaching a capacity of 90 children.
TBAISD
125 special needs kids take swim lessons each week at our Central Y.
Women's Resource Center
YMCA members sponsored 3 families, a total of 13 people, in 2018 through the Women’s Resource Giving tree at Christmas time. YMCA members also sponsored families in 2017.
