SWIM STARTERS

30-minute lessons | Ages 6 months – 36 months

Led by an instructor, get in the pool with your child and learn lifesaving information. Build memories through games that teach your child pre-swim skills while achieving comfort in the water.

STAGE A: Water Discovery

Introduces infants and toddlers to the aquatic environment. Accompanied by a parent, infants and toddlers learn to be comfortable in the water and develop swim readiness skills through fun and confidence-building experience, while parents learn about water safety, drowning prevention, and the importance of supervision. Waterproof diaper required for those not potty trained. 6:1 student-to-instructor ratio.

STAGE B: Water Exploration

Focuses on exploring body positions, blowing bubbles, and fundamental safety and aquatic skills. Accompanied by a parent, infants and toddlers learn to be comfortable in the water and develop swim readiness skills through fun and confidence-building experience, while parents learn about water safety, drowning prevention and the importance of supervision.Waterproof diaper required for those not potty trained. 6:1 student-to-instructor ratio.

SWIM BASICS

Learn personal water safety and achieve basic life-saving skills. Recommended skills for all to have around water.

Preschool

Youth

40-minute lessons | Ages 6 – 12 years

STAGE 1: Water Acclimation

Increases comfort with underwater exploration and introduces basic self-rescue skills performed with assistance. Students learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency by learning two benchmark skills: 1) swim, float, swim – sequencing front glide, roll, back float, roll, front glide, and exit. 6:1 student-to-instructor ratio.

STAGE 2: Water Movement

Encourages forward movement in water and basic self-rescue skills performed independently. Students learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency by learning two benchmark skills: 1) Swim, float, swim – sequencing front glide, roll, back float, roll, front glide, and exit. 6:1 student-to-instructor ratio.

STAGE 3: Water Stamina

Develops intermediate self-rescue skills performed at longer distance then in previous stages. Students learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency by learning two benchmark skills: 1) Swim, float, swim – sequencing front glide, roll, back float, roll, front glide, and exit. 6:1 student-to-instructor ratio.

SWIM STROKES

Youth

40-minute lessons | Ages 6 – 12 years

Build skills to support a healthy lifestyle.

STAGE 4: Stroke Introduction

Introduces basic stroke technique in front crawl and back crawl and reinforces water safety through treading water and elementary backstroke. Having mastered the fundamentals, students learn additional water safety skills and build stroke technique, developing skills that prevent chronic disease, increase social-emotional and cognitive well-being, and foster a lifetime of physical activity. 6:1 student-to-instructor ratio.

STAGE 5: Stroke Development

Introduces breaststroke and butterfly and reinforces water safety treading water and sidestroke. Having mastered the fundamentals, students learn additional water safety skills and build stroke technique, developing skills that prevent chronic disease, increase social-emotional and cognitive well-being, and foster a lifetime of physical activity. 6:1 student-to-instructor ratio.

STAGE 6: Stroke Mechanics

Refine stroke technique on all major competitive strokes and encourages swimming as part of a healthy lifestyle. Having mastered the fundamentals, students learn additional water safety skills and build stroke technique, developing skills that prevent chronic disease, increase social-emotional and cognitive well-being, and foster a lifetime of physical activity. 6:1 student-to-instructor ratio.

SAFETY AROUND WATER

POOL, OPEN WATER, BOAT AND BACKYARD POOL SAFETY.

The Safety Around Water program is a five-week intensive program that teaches water safety skills to local third grade students. Students are brought to our facility by school-provided transportation and supervision. They receive a 45-minute lesson in our aquatic facility.
